Exciting Resource for Women and Girls with Hemophilia
Looking for more resources for women and girls with hemophilia? The World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) has a booklet designed just for you. For too many years women with hemophilia have had trouble getting a diagnosis, delaying timely treatment and care. Without broader recognition that women can have hemophilia too, many have gone without access to the resources and support necessary to effectively manage their bleeding disorder.
Created for a global audience, this guide covers topics like diagnosis, treatment, labor and delivery, and psychosocial issues. While focused specifically on women with hemophilia, it provides vital information that can strengthen communication and shared decision-making between women and their healthcare providers. The resource is available in several different languages, including English, Arabic, French, Russian, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese. Older versions are also available in Japanese, and with permission from the WFH, from NMOs in Setswana and Traditional Chinese. You can also find more resources from the WFH eLearning platform, with education available on a wide variety of topics.
